Biography
b. 1985, London. Based in Barcelona.
Andy McCartney works at the intersection of pop culture, mass media and conceptual art. His practice draws from Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol — transforming consumer icons into critical objects that question value, desire and collective identity.
A member of the Vandalism movement, McCartney channels the chakra of the throat — communication, expression, and the voice of the collective unconscious.
